We just had some friends over and we got on the topic of high school. I bragged about how cool all my friends were and even boasted that we have a blog that we use to stay in touch. I showed them but then realized that no one has said anything for a while. It made me feel disappointed in you guys. I mean, how can I brag about you if you don't deserve it? (I hope you are picking up the sarcasm here and know that I could never be disappointed in you ... unless you voted for Barack Obama of course) Here is an update on my life:

I'm tired of working at Evergreen Services, Inc. Ten years has yielded basically the same experiences over and over. I want something that is more exciting and offers a high degree of unpredictability. All I really want to do is file people's taxes.

I'm currently studying for LSAT ... for those of you who aren't as smart as me, that is the Law School Admissions Test (I think). I'm going to be Scott's dad when I grow up.

Hopefully everyone still has access to the Internet (did you know that Internet is generally capitalized when referring to "the" "Internet"? It's a proper noun. Look it up. On the Internet.). If you have lost your Internet connection, try to think of some other way to communicate with each other. But not by phone, because phone conversations can get incredibly awkward.

I miss and love you all. Thanks for being friends who deserve to be bragged about.

Ok, was michael jordan wearing a hitler mustache in his most recent Hanes commercial, or am i taking crazy pills. I'm 99% sure he was, but considering my recent state of mind, i thought i might be hallucinating. If he is, a couple thoughts:

1. Are jews offended by this? obviously jews dislike hitler, but what about his infamous mustache? Has the mustache become more than the man?

2. At any point in time, do you think someone helping on the commercial shoot thought to themselves, Michael Jordan has a hitler mustache, should we tell him?

3. Does this reflect Michael's personal thoughts towards jews?

4. Does this make Michael look racist, or make hitler look athletic?

last night was one of my more interesting nights in moscow. i have a friend here who when he drinks too much suffers from extreme 'night terrors'. if you wish to know what a night terror is, think of jason when he used to pass out. exactly like it except this kind is inspired by booze. anyway, because my friend was REAlly drunk i knew what was coming so i slept on the couch.

sure enough, around 3 in the morning i hear him running down the hall and into the kitchen. as he did so i bolted in hot pursuit. by the time i got to the kitchen he ran out the back door and as i was about to exit the house i hear an explosion of glass. yes, he punched a window, breaking it and cutting up his hand. i got him away from the glass, tackled him, and pinned him to the ground until he woke up. we calmed him down and everyone went back to bed.

6am. my friend was sleeping on the couch next to me. i woke up to him violently convulsing. as i'm about to pin him to the ground again he stops, promises me he's awake, and begins walking away. now, i wasn't sure if he was or wasn't.. so i followed him.. and he was definitely not awake. as i turned the corner he dropped to the floor and began pounding the floor over and over with his now cut up hand. again, i pin him to the ground for a few minutes until he woke up.

7am. i wake up to him sprinting past me down the hall. i was sleeping pretty deep at this point and it took me a second to give chase. i ran down the hall and found him (we'll say friend A) in my other friend's room, on top of my friend (we'll say friend B), just slapping him in the face. now, friend B has been really annoying and questionable lately so i just sat back and watched for a bit.. just making sure no one got seriously hurt. suddenly friend A gets up, and tries to run back down the hall past me. as he tried i shoulder checked him into the wall and pinned him again. after a few minutes i coulda sworen he was awake so i let him up. .. .. very much still sleeping cause he turned and punched a hole in the wall. this time when i pinned him he fought and fought hard but i kept him pinned.. barley. by this time everyone else in the house was awake. i passed the job of guarding against night terrors to them.. and i went to sleep.

Thing 1: I saw Brody Rumsey today. I think that is how you spell his name. It was at a classic car show at Rocky Mountain Middle School. He was pushing a stroller and the only thing I heard was "That is one "f'n" nice car." Thinking back, I can't say if I remember there being a baby in the stroller. I was just so fascinated by the site of Brody's beard and personage.

Thing 2: I heard an ad on the radio that D-nots is playing a show sometime in Idaho Falls. I say we get in Scott's mom's Toyota, grab a megaphone and go find them. Hope you all are well.

One nice autumn day while chillin out maxin relaxin all cool at the the rail jam where i spend most of my days when these girls started makin trouble in my neighborhood...Andrew made a comment saying that one of girls looked just like him, I recognized the girl to be one of Mark's girlfriends/fun buddy's which name will stay anonymous, For the time being we will call this girl either Lady Andrew or She Andrew, whichever you prefer. Now, we might have guessed that Mark had a secret crush on Andrew. . . I know that Mark isn't gay in the slightest, though he does have a perverse sexual amalgam with some girl (She Andrew) and his best friend (the one he truly wishes he could spend the rest of his life with) we can look past this, or we can look in ourselves to see if we married or dated a lady in which they resemble our man crush. Appleseed Cast is coming March 12th to Kilby Court in Salt Lake. They are not going to Boise, Rexburg, or Moscow. Looks like all you sucker fish are going to have to come visit.

Saves the Day is coming March 9th, but... I regret to inform you that it will be with NEW FOUND GLORY. Boo. Hello Goodbye is playing too, but I'm still not convinced I can bring myself to see them.

Muse is coming in April. Several of my associates and I already have tickets.

BANFF film fest is coming Feb. 16 + 17 to UVU. I'll be there both nights.

For all of the above activities and more, I have a sleeping bag and a couch with your name on it.

okay...some of you know, some of you dont, but for a long time, I have struggled to become actively engaged in this "script of poop" as you might call it. But now, for the first time, I have some news. Some consider it good, some consider it strange, baffling, perplexing, even uncanny, but nonetheless, it is true. Our family of poops is growing. Traci will soon have a child (June 24th to be exact, maybe), this means that all of you who are willing to make an oath with me, will become poop-uncles. You might think that this calling is less important than, say, a real uncle, but really, it just involves a whole less responsibility and pressure. And so, I believe, this is a calling fit for poops.

While sex is not yet known (yes, it could be hermaphrodite but Traci doesn't like that idea and neither do I), DNA testing has been done and this photo came out.

I know we all have ideas and plans of things we wish to do, but i have a suggestion. After talking with Jason one night a seed was given, which if planted will grow. the seed?: techno party bus. Jason, you have a bus, we would probably need this. Other contributions from posse members?: a strobe light, a sound system of sorts, a fog machine (or dry ice) and a power source. with our powers combined i see greatness. techno party bus... fun? i dunno maybe. but funny? yes. and remember, anything to be funny. other ideas?

I would have posted this on my blog, but it's somewhat up beat and i don't want to distract from the general theme of sarcasm and pessimism.

I've been kind of interning for a photographer named tim kemple (kemplemedia.com i think) for the past monthish and the last 10 days we spent in san fran shooting The North Face endurance challenge, some clothing shoots, as well as some of the athletes. I learned a ton, made some great contacts, and generally had an awesome time. One night be spent dancing on a boat. North face rented a boat and all the athletes came and they had a dj and i had tons of fun.

The last day i was there, we shot some of the professional skiers. ingrid (backstrom i think), sage something, ian something. anyway. ingrid was hot and cool, but really hot. sage was definitely stoned during the shoot, and ian, i found out, was recently a body double for leonardo dicaprio in a movie still in production. It was generally a really really awesome time.

One of the nights we went out with the ad agency responsible for The North Face's ads. There were 13 of us and the bill total was about $2200 bones (i didn't have to pay, thank heavens). The food was good, but not that good.

To top it off, a really nice lady at the north face gave tim and i a box of samples. which means free clothes. I got a sweet jacket. i don't think it's for sale yet. Anyway. that was my good news that i didn't want to ruin my blog with.

It has been confirmed that I will be arriving in the Falls of Idaho on December 23 at 5 pm and will be there until the 26th at 5 pm. This means we must gather together on the evening of the 23rd and have an enjoyable time, possibly hit up Ray's (the restaurant, not Ray Tapp, Mark), maybe even some seltzer sletcher?

I expect to see all of you on this evening since I haven't seen most of you in over a year (a fact nearly as disturbing as seeing a picture of feces in the Perkins menu).

Adventures in Ward Prayer

Every Sunday night my singles ward meets for "Ward Prayer," a spiritual thought and prayer and an excuse to get together.

Since it is freezing cold as of late, people pour out of their apartments just before 9 pm to avoid being in the sub-balmy temperature for too long.

This creates an extremely predictable audience and target for the rucus of Devonshire 15 aka "the ranch" (our apartment).

A week ago the ward congregated on the small expanse of grass that covers the edge of the parking garage. It slopes steepily away from the side of the building and is only about 12 feet wide.

Mr. Premont and I got up to make an anouncement from "the ranch" with my mega phone. I told the ward that on behalf of "the ranch" we would like to wish the ward a happy fall. At that moment, 7 large trash bags full of leaves were launched from the 6 windows above the crowd, literally burying the people sitting along the edge of the wall. A 300-pound friend of ours tried to jump up and escape, but due to the high density of leaves already on the ground and the steep grade, he flipped onto his but and slid down the hill, taking out several people in his path.

ONE WEEK LATER:

They moved ward prayer into the parking garage because they think it is warmer. The Elder's Quorum President was making an announcement in the middle of the ward, which had made a circle around him. The metal grate covering the sewer beneath his foot bumped upward and he jumped back startled. The grate launched off and to the side, a pizza box flew out of the hole, and then I climbed out in my Ninja turtle mascott costume. Mr. Premont said that many of the people screamed in terror and then proceded to laugh for 5 minutes straight. The ninja turtle walked away.

friends, as most of you know, i am in moscow (not russia) idaho. for the past few weeks i've been eyeing a pair of 'road closed' signs laying abandoned on the side of an old road. last friday night i decided to do something about that. since all of my friends were too waisted to bring with i had to solo-op this mission. around midnight-midnight thirty i found myself carrying these signs a mile and a half or so throughout neighborhoods doin my best to avoid detection from the police. after some deal of time i eventually arrived at my intended drop zone... consisting of a divided street on an upward curved hill. i deployed a sign and sat back in bushes to watch. sure enough, cars soon came and sure enough, they were confused out of their mind. before i knew it i had a mini traffic jam at 1am. because of the largness of the divide people couldn't get around and eventually had to back out a long long way. some people were smart and just moved the sign... .. but they soon proved wern't that smart because they moved it back into place after they got past. one of which person who obviously felt accomplished for getting around the sign boasted 'thats how we do it where i'm from' and proceeded to get back in his minivan. at one time, a late night runner saw through the plot however and felt the need to move the sign out of the road... not to worry for a couple of drunk students soon walked by and upon seeing the sign thought it would be funny to put the sign in the road. as chance would have it they ended up placing the sign at the exact time a car was turning up the road and got caught. in confusion they pushed the sign to the side and scrambled. jokes on them. before i left for the night i moved the sign back onto the road and proceeded home. as of now the sign has been moved off to the side of the road but i do not doubt that many others fell victim to the trap. that is all.

Hey cool guys,

I texted you the other day, but realized that some of you may not get texts. To recap, August 18-20 I am not working and so you and your spouses are cordially invited to boogy-down in Jackson during those days.

I have a white-water raft and my roomate has a kyak and a two-man duckie. That means we can run Alpine Canyon. We also recently borrowed some paddle boards (huge surf board with long paddle commonly used in the ocean) from a rental shop where a friend works and took those down the scenic stretch of the river. Pretty awesome. Mountain biking, inner-tubing, climbing, huckleberry picking, etc. It's all up for grabs.

Let me know if you would like to come play, you are all welcome to crash at mine and sven's place.

So friends i have a catheter! Yes i had surgery on my pee pee, the doctor explained it like a ditch being over run by brush. Scar tissue over ran my urethra making the pee issue that you all are so aware of. everywhere i go the plastic tubing drags my urine balloon around like old yeller and it es yeller. I could share with you some things that will make your nether regions cringe. I wish this upon no one and good luck to any that should share this fate.

Sandwiches

I have to admit, upon Naomi's comment I decided to creep her profile to which I discovered love for sandwiches. This made me think of my own love and hence I write for the sake of sandwiches. I have lived mostly the whole semester off of sandwiches, mainly ham and swiss with spicy mustard (Beaver Brand Honey Mustard), mayo, crunch pickles, and sometimes lettuce on usually Winco's Mutli Grain Deli Bread or Sour Dough Deli Bread. I thought I would be sick of sandwiches by now... I thought wrong. This is a shout out to the very sandwich described above which I ate earlier. I was going to try and be creative and write a poem about that sandwich.. but then I started feeling really lazy and decided it best just to eat more sandwiches in tribute. Furthermore I heard Andy got a battleship tatoo on his chest, I also heard that Drexton is going to be a father, congrats bud.

ok, so for all of you who don't know, kevin had a tumor removed from his neck today that was as big as a fist. They won't know whether or not it's benign or malignant until monday. If it's malignant, then kevin has to go back into surgery on tuesday. I talked to his dad and he said kevin should be in IF tomorrow, sat, the 21st, so if you're in the vicinity, you need to go see him. if you don't, i'll kick your ass. thanks.

I would like to say i am sorry to all of you for not being a good friend. I know that i have said time after time that i will go snowboarding with ya'll and have not delivered on that promise. I really do want to go but can't justify spending that much money on an activity that should only cost $35. I will try and save some money so that the next time i come up i will be able to go. For Matt and Kevin, I know Kevin is never on here so if Matt could pass this on, I would love to ride bikes with you 2 this summer sometime. I'm sure i won't be able to keep up but i will try.

Cashing in on favors

Andy, remember when you drove with me down to Logan to pick up Mark for Zach's farewell or homecoming or something like that? Well, over break I called in the favor which, for Mark, meant that he had to double what i did. So, being the honest young lad that he was, he drove with me down to SLC so i could catch a flight to be with a lady friend in Pennsylvania. Mark then drove home by himself. This was all during the worst driving conditions i've ever experienced and trust me. I've driven through many a condition. Well, mark needed his stuff up in Moscow so, I being the good brother that i am (not because i wanted a future favor), I drove up a load of stuff to Moscow (8 hours), by myself, then drove back (8 hours), by myself, thus doubling the previous favor done by Mark. That's 16 hours in a car. Since favors double over time, Mark is going to have to drive at least 32 hours for me. I'd like to get some ideas as to what he could do that would equal 32 hours of driving, besides driving 32 hours. I've already thought of that one. I thought of making him pick me up in IF and drive me up to Moscow to hang out for a day, then make him drive me back, but that seems to easy. Anyway, let me know what you guys think.
ps. Andy, i think Mark might owe you a favor for driving with me to Logan some time ago, so i think his favor would be 8 hours. i don't know though, you'll have to discuss with him.
ps. no sexual favors guys, cause he's my brother and that'd be gay. (not that their's anything wrong with that).

Believe it or not I am actually cold now in Iraq! I few shorts months ago it was 135 degrees and I had no AC. Now just this morning it is like 35 degrees! 100 degree difference, it is crazy! Man I miss Idaho where at least when it is cold there is usually snow and mountains! h and I hate Iraq, that is all!

Well, yet again I find myself looking so very... white-trash. I suppose such is my calling in life for I believe I do it well. On a different note I recently competed in my first race in awhile, the 'nearly naked dash'. The deal was to show up, donate almost all of the clothes you had on (almost) and then run a 1k in your 'nearly naked costume'. I took 1st but my lettuce costume disinegrated after a few hundered meteres... luckily i was still wearing my skivies. What a run.

I Adopted a CAT! (and other updates)

Up until this past month I have hated cats. I thought they were meant only as a tool for old ladies to achieve a sense of love and fulfillment. Then when I moved this August into a neighborhood of Boise that is littered with unwanted felines, a stocky back cat made himself comfortable with the fact that we do not have screens on our windows, thus, anything that can fit through a 2'x2' hole in the wall can come and go as pleased.
This past week the cat, Jackson, came to the door with swollen leg and an inability to walk far without having to lay down. At this point I figured it was my duty as a democrat to get this animal taken care of.

It is important to pay attention to this next part if you are interested in getting your pet free health care.

I took Jackson to the vet, where they wanted to charge me a base fee of 69 bones to have him looked at. Now I don't have $69 to just be throwing around for any injured creature that lands on my door step, so I claimed Jackson as a stray with the condition that they would look at him and then release him to the humane society where he would have an unknown fate. Luckly I discovered I had a distant connection at the humane society here so I had her watch after Jackson (make sure he was not "put down"). A few days later I rolled in to the humane society to adopt Jackson after his wounds had been stitched up, neutered, and vaccinated. Now, however, I am a cat person for the next few years (how long do cats live anyway?)

Other than that, I was walking around campus the other day and there was a club fair going on where various clubs had tables out in an attempt to recruit members. I noticed that there was an empty table available so I went to the computer lab and printed off a bunch of flyers and made a poster, then when back to the table and set up the Beard of Ages Club. I feel like I was well received, generating more interest than any of the other clubs around me. A lot of people here seem to appreciate beards except for one guy from the German club who approached me and asked me what my club was going to do to give back to the school and was saying that he hated clubs like this that are just excuses to use the school's money to fund social events (note, this is not even an official club, obviously). I ended up getting a list of names/numbers/emails of people (male and female) who are interested in beards. I'm not sure what I want to do with this now...

Also, I have ventured back into the world of being in a relationship (no, not with a dude). It is going really well. Her name is Sarah. I think you all would like her a lot. No, I don't have plans to get married any time soon. Andy shall remain lit.

I know it's quite presumptuous to say that i, in my small world, am like the famous George Costanza, but recounting events that happened more than a month ago, i came to this realization. Let me put this in perspective for you all. I was seeing this girl from Provo and had hung out with her one time before and just made out like monkeys. So. anyway, she came up and stayed at my house on a friday i think and then we went climbing at the city of rocks on saturday. On the way there, we stopped and picked up some groceries. i bought some orange juice, Beaver spicy mustard (thanks andy), and some other things. Throughout the day, i realized that she bugged me and that this "relationship" wasn't going to work, no matter how much fun we had. She still bugged me. So anyway, about the last half of the day, i was thinking of how i would break it to her that i didn't want to hang out with her anymore. It was tough. We finished climbing and went back to my house. She was going to stay the night again, and i was still perplexed as to how i would go about doing this. We were sitting on my porch and she asked me "what are you thinking?". I responded with "yeah.....i don't think we should see each other anymore." Silence. "Well that came out of nowhere", she said (i found out later that she had been calling me her boyfriend to her friends without telling me i was her boyfriend). More awkward silence. She decided that it would be best if she didn't stay because it would make things awkward. The problem was that i couldn't stop thinking about the Beaver spicy mustard that was sitting in the cooler in her car. I really wanted it, but i didn't know how to go about getting it. I decided to cowboy up and just be straight forward. "Hey, do you think that i could get the mustard back that i bought. i really like it. i mean, you could keep the orange juice and stuff, i just really want that mustard". She agreed, probably thinking that i was the biggest boner on the planet, and i got my mustard, completely satisfied. She left. I made a sandwich.

In other news:

As I mentioned to you, we filmed a one-shot (one continuous shot, no breaks or post production) horror film sequence in a mansion near point of the mountain. We had a pretty awesome child actor, two adult actors who got really into their roles (the guy even inserted a curse word because he thought that's how he'd really react to the situation) and the back of my head wearing the clown mask I bought in Tiajuana made it's debut. Once we have an online version I'll let you know so you can check it out.

I also filmed the mass production of phonebooks in a HUGE factory in Springville for my documentary project. That was interesting and challenging.

We are now working on pitching ideas and script writing and it is amazing how some people in the major just aren't very creative when it comes to humorous stories or adaptations of stories. It's been fun to shock some of them with our carefully crafted Idahoan perspective.

I've been playing with John Hendricks, working on some of his wrap stuff. It sounds intense through the crate base amp (keyboard/drum combo). I also picked up where I left off with the harpist and that is looking better and better. We plan to play at some open mics in the next couple of weeks to get the word out and try to impress the venue owners into letting us open for somebody. I played two weeks ago and recieved lots of positive feedback. Things are looking good musically.

Andy, please follow the above outline and inform me of your "peak experiences" (coach neil and the loons?) Also any suggestions for band names or rap identities (ex. "Spinal Crackah")

While it will be a day of celebration for Space Station Jason, it will be the moment of truth for one Andrew Farrer. We will see where the loyalty of this boy stands.

Hidden Rooms

Ever since I was a young boy reading Goosebumps books I have dreamed of uncovering a secret room hidden somewhere in my house. Every house I've live in so far has been fairly modern with all areas of the house being utilized and open. Last night this all changed.
At the beginning of this month I moved in to a large house in an older area of Boise. There is one bedroom in this house that has some unusual storage area. Example one, this box like compartment built into the wall:
Last night we discovered that this box can be removed reveling a secret room:

The walls of this room are lined with dust this old Revlon ad:
We also found a bunch of old magazines from the 1940's which contained some interesting ads:
Then, on the other side of the room, there is another storage area which happens to contain a working sink:
If you notice to the bottom left of the sink there is a small crawl space that leads to another strange dusty room:
That room is completely lined with this advertisement:
It was a rather short excursion last night because we were not prepared for all the dust and other stuff that shouldn't be breathed in. So there will be another excavation sometime soon this week.

well, scooter and i ran the dam marathon today... i a little tuckered out but have learned a valuable lesson in the ways of marathons. lesson learned? don't repeated splash the hand out watter on your chest... it will make your nipples chafe. so thats me in all my glory... nipple chaffage and all. and scott was giving me an incredible stare down just a few minutes earlier as i was taping my 'battle wounds'. good times.

Dave got lost by himself in the woods two days ago. When I got home from work he told me of his adventures in the woods and we discussed the need to buy some bear spray. As we discussed the topic, it became clear that we had been joined by a visitor on our front porch. A black bear was separating us from our front door. It was goofy looking, bow legged and quite mangey. We chased it off and decided that we should make an addition to that guy's movie who rides the moose on youtube and hug a bear.

I took fourteenth place in the anual 4 mile mud run. Not bad for having no idea where i was supposed to go. There is no path, just the mud flats when the tide goes out and streams up to your waist that you have to plunge through without loosing your shoes. Walmart velcro shoes got the job done yet again.

We met a mountain man on top of a mountain... named... mountain. He looks like a pirate captain and spends months at a time kye yack ing through southeastern alaska living off the land. Pretty nuts. We got his digits. I'll show you pictures.

well, its finally happened... i've ran too far. i had to get my toe nail removed the other day and i'll tell you what, for just a small sucka it sure snaggletoothed me good. i was all good till the anesthetic wore off leaving me incapacitated. today wasn't as bad as yesterday but i'm still carrying around a heavy limp. well i guess this should make for a good time next week in the marathon... giddy up suckas.
