It is cold!
Believe it or not I am actually cold now in Iraq! I few shorts months ago it was 135 degrees and I had no AC. Now just this morning it is like 35 degrees! 100 degree difference, it is crazy! Man I miss Idaho where at least when it is cold there is usually snow and mountains! h and I hate Iraq, that is all!

The Moscow Report
Well, yet again I find myself looking so very... white-trash. I suppose such is my calling in life for I believe I do it well. On a different note I recently competed in my first race in awhile, the 'nearly naked dash'. The deal was to show up, donate almost all of the clothes you had on (almost) and then run a 1k in your 'nearly naked costume'. I took 1st but my lettuce costume disinegrated after a few hundered meteres... luckily i was still wearing my skivies. What a run.

Copeland Monday Night in Salt Lake
Copeland is playing Monday in Salt Lake with Lovedrug, Lidia, and Lights. I've seen Lovedrug before (strangely I think with Copeland) and highly recommend. I'll be there with some associates from this southern state. Any and all who'd care to join are welcome to stay at my joint.

Here are some recent highlights, the first being Hobbs, me, and a man whom we love named Tim. He changed our lives for the better, one breeze-in sandwich at a time.
Hobbs, here's to you my man. If we keep this catching of fish with bare hands up you are going to start looking like quite the mountain man. Peeps are starting to talk.
The last one was about 10 minutes after you dawgs left. Fun eh.

The Latest in ADD
Hello my associates. Here are some pictures of Saturday morning's homecoming festivities. Enjoy. It's kind of like Where's Waldo. We shaved off over 5 minutes from last year's time. I attribute it to not having my lungs compressed by this year's gear.

I Adopted a CAT! (and other updates)
Up until this past month I have hated cats. I thought they were meant only as a tool for old ladies to achieve a sense of love and fulfillment. Then when I moved this August into a neighborhood of Boise that is littered with unwanted felines, a stocky back cat made himself comfortable with the fact that we do not have screens on our windows, thus, anything that can fit through a 2'x2' hole in the wall can come and go as pleased.
This past week the cat, Jackson, came to the door with swollen leg and an inability to walk far without having to lay down. At this point I figured it was my duty as a democrat to get this animal taken care of.
It is important to pay attention to this next part if you are interested in getting your pet free health care.
I took Jackson to the vet, where they wanted to charge me a base fee of 69 bones to have him looked at. Now I don't have $69 to just be throwing around for any injured creature that lands on my door step, so I claimed Jackson as a stray with the condition that they would look at him and then release him to the humane society where he would have an unknown fate. Luckly I discovered I had a distant connection at the humane society here so I had her watch after Jackson (make sure he was not "put down"). A few days later I rolled in to the humane society to adopt Jackson after his wounds had been stitched up, neutered, and vaccinated. Now, however, I am a cat person for the next few years (how long do cats live anyway?)
Jackson (I know he's not a baby, but he's all that I've got):
Other than that, I was walking around campus the other day and there was a club fair going on where various clubs had tables out in an attempt to recruit members. I noticed that there was an empty table available so I went to the computer lab and printed off a bunch of flyers and made a poster, then when back to the table and set up the Beard of Ages Club. I feel like I was well received, generating more interest than any of the other clubs around me. A lot of people here seem to appreciate beards except for one guy from the German club who approached me and asked me what my club was going to do to give back to the school and was saying that he hated clubs like this that are just excuses to use the school's money to fund social events (note, this is not even an official club, obviously). I ended up getting a list of names/numbers/emails of people (male and female) who are interested in beards. I'm not sure what I want to do with this now...
Also, I have ventured back into the world of being in a relationship (no, not with a dude). It is going really well. Her name is Sarah. I think you all would like her a lot. No, I don't have plans to get married any time soon. Andy shall remain lit.

Hey Andy
Boy, and anyone else still checking this blog multiple times a day for entertainment, yet never posting anything on it yourselves,
Here are a few gems I've found as of late:
Youtube:
#1 Winner Takes Steve - a Jared Hess short made while he was at BYU.
#2 Sigur Ros's music videos for "hoppipolla" and "glosoli"
#3 Choose your own adventure web cam adventure (something to that effect, you'll see about 15 related videos of this epic saga)
Website:
pandora.com-
you type in a band you like and it creates basically a radio station/play list that is full of music related to the style of the band you selected. Genious.
Music:
Vyvienne Long-
Chellist (sp?) for Damien Rice. Go to Damien Rice's myspace page and then click on the link to her page (otherwise her music won't load for some reason). Awesome. "They're Not Waving" is a masterpiece. John Hendricks and I are working on an all-percussion rendition of her rendition of "Come together." It's gonna be sweet.
Copeland-
I just bought a cd at circuit city of copeland's besides, previously unreleased tracks, and remixes. Pretty interesting. It's growing on me and has some definite gems.
The Sego Music and Art festival will be in Provo this weekend. You should come play.
Food-
Cosco 36 count dinner rolls, Pre-sliced pepper jack cheese, juicy roast beef. Mmmm.
In other news:
As I mentioned to you, we filmed a one-shot (one continuous shot, no breaks or post production) horror film sequence in a mansion near point of the mountain. We had a pretty awesome child actor, two adult actors who got really into their roles (the guy even inserted a curse word because he thought that's how he'd really react to the situation) and the back of my head wearing the clown mask I bought in Tiajuana made it's debut. Once we have an online version I'll let you know so you can check it out.
I also filmed the mass production of phonebooks in a HUGE factory in Springville for my documentary project. That was interesting and challenging.
We are now working on pitching ideas and script writing and it is amazing how some people in the major just aren't very creative when it comes to humorous stories or adaptations of stories. It's been fun to shock some of them with our carefully crafted Idahoan perspective.
I've been playing with John Hendricks, working on some of his wrap stuff. It sounds intense through the crate base amp (keyboard/drum combo). I also picked up where I left off with the harpist and that is looking better and better. We plan to play at some open mics in the next couple of weeks to get the word out and try to impress the venue owners into letting us open for somebody. I played two weeks ago and recieved lots of positive feedback. Things are looking good musically.
Andy, please follow the above outline and inform me of your "peak experiences" (coach neil and the loons?) Also any suggestions for band names or rap identities (ex. "Spinal Crackah")
Much love,
Dusty

Dear associates,
I recall hearing that some of you who live/lived in Pocatello have had some strange interactions with squirrels. I found this one entertaining.

Hidden Rooms
Ever since I was a young boy reading Goosebumps books I have dreamed of uncovering a secret room hidden somewhere in my house. Every house I've live in so far has been fairly modern with all areas of the house being utilized and open. Last night this all changed.
At the beginning of this month I moved in to a large house in an older area of Boise. There is one bedroom in this house that has some unusual storage area. Example one, this box like compartment built into the wall:
Last night we discovered that this box can be removed reveling a secret room:
The walls of this room are lined with dust this old Revlon ad:
We also found a bunch of old magazines from the 1940's which contained some interesting ads:
Then, on the other side of the room, there is another storage area which happens to contain a working sink:
If you notice to the bottom left of the sink there is a small crawl space that leads to another strange dusty room:
That room is completely lined with this advertisement:
It was a rather short excursion last night because we were not prepared for all the dust and other stuff that shouldn't be breathed in. So there will be another excavation sometime soon this week.

holy cow are you seeing this
hello world... i am a little worried to here that matt has a new blog! I would like you to know that i am doing pretty well i think about letting my friends move on, but if you start doing it on purpose i am gonna lose it! On to greater news Micheal Phelps has played an important role i think in all our lives, i think its pretty amazing but sadly you know you are beginning to emulate and idolize someone way to much when you think they look like people. I mean c'mon it can't just be me, right?

its happening...the board is set the pieces are moving
The day superman died must have been a dark day in the lives of all those who depended on him. what if freedom never would have come to the united states. what if bologna didnt have a first name... dont get me wrong i never doubted these things until now my friends. Superman may have died but he came back... freedom is still here though its not free, and oscor meyer never lets kids down! Then again superman never sold his fortress of solitude! i do not live and the same place. my fortress along with my chariot of old (the minivan) are all relics. i cant go on i have become boring. everything will change everything has changed. thats all i have left

I had no idea what was inside and when I opened it...there was tape 2 with a bunch of other nonsesne.... so just so you know. Tape 2 is secure. Let me know if you want to watch it or if you want me to post it online.

Mouth of the Herbert Glacier Trail early in the season, there's about 6-8 feet of ferns and foilage now.
So far things are going well, we just moved into a huge mansion on top of Douglas Island's mountain range with a 60 inch big screen tv and a hot tub. Our mechanic gave us a free car this week so we are more mobile than ever. You're all invited to come visit. My Grandpa and Dad came for 2 days. We went on 2500 dollars worth of tours for free. Not bad for a weekend. Love you dearies and miss you much.
